Top tips to avoid the risk of breast cancer

Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death among women across the globe. More than 13% of the women have the risk of developing breast cancer at any age during her lifetime. Reason for breast cancer has not been found until now but risk of breast cancer can be avoided and prevented by following simple tips.

Healthy and balanced diet

Balanced and healthy food helps to avoid the risk of cancer. It boosts up the immune system and prevents development of cancer cells. Antioxidants and other vitamins are essential to prevent cell damage and regular intake of fruits and vegetables prevents damage to cell and prevents cancer.

It is good to avoid red meat and other fat foods which are rich in saturated fats. Also keep away from foods rich in sugar as cancer cells generally feed on sugary substance. Reduce the intake of alcohol, cancer cells are estrogen sensitive and regularly drinking alcohol can increase the chance of breast cancer.

Maintain healthy weight

It is essential to maintain the ideal body weight and obese persons are easily prone to cancer than other people. Research by scientists has concluded that obese people are easily prone to the risk of cancer, one must have the ideal weight, and especially one should be neither underweight nor over weight.

Exercise regularly

Exercise not only helps to stay young but also prevents obesity and reduces the risk of cancer. Different types of exercise including jogging, swimming, cycling, walking, etc can be done for 30 minutes daily to reduce the risk of cancer.

Avoid smoking

Needless to say, smoking can affect all the organs of the body and increases the risk of cancer in patients. If you are a frequent smoker then there are high chances of getting affected by cancer.

Breast feed

It is good for new mothers to breast feed their child as it avoids the risk of breast cancer. Studies have proved that breast cancer can be avoided up to 8% by breast feeding the new born.

Breast examination and breast cancer testing

Breasts must be examined on a regular basis and if you find any unusual change then it is good to consult the doctor. Every woman can check her breasts in privacy and they can consult the doctor if they find anything unusual including lumps.

Breast cancer testing must also be done once in a year, fluorescent probes are used to find the gene copies in any tumor cells.
