In 2001 an initiative was started by the Swiss corporation New seven Wonders Foundation to choose the New Seven Wonders of The World from a selection of 200 existing monuments for profit. Egypt was not happy with the fact that the only original wonder would have to compete with the likes of the Statue of Liberty, the Sydney Opera House, and other landmarks; and called the project absurd. To solve this, Giza was named an honorary Candidate. The results were announced on July 7, 2007 where more than 100 million votes were cast with the number of votes received the New seven wonders of the world were decided in which Great Wall of China, Petra, Christ the Redeemer, Machu Picchu, Chichen Itza, Colosseum and Taj Mahal were selected.

It is not wrong to call some of the man made monuments as the Wonders of the World as they are amazingly beautiful and attractive. All the new seven wonders are worth admiring and large number of people from all over the world visit these places to witness its architectural wonder. People from all over the world casted their votes to select the New Seven Wonders. An intensive campaign was led in various parts of the world so that more and more number of people can be the part of the campaign. The results were just unbelievable as large number of messages were received. The New seven wonders were made after rigorous efforts made by the people. Ancient Wonders of World are Pyramid of Giza also called the Pyramid of Khufu and the Pyramid of Cheops is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in the Giza Necropolis bordering. Hanging Gardens of Babylon are considered to be one of the original seven wonders of the ancient world. Mausoleum of Maussollos at Halicarnassus was a tomb built between 353 and 350 BC at Halicarnassus for Mausolus, a satrap in the Persian Empire, and Artemisia II of Caria, his wife and sister. Colossus of Rhodes was a statue of the Greek god Helios, erected in the city of Rhodes on the Greek island of Rhodes by Chares of Lindos between 292 and 280 BC. Lighthouse of Alexandria also known as the Pharos of Alexandria was a tower built between 280 and 247 BC on the island of Pharos at Alexandria , Egypt.
