After doing this, ensure that the subfloor is dry and clean. Install tackless strips tightly all around the perimeter of the room keeping a space of ½ inch between the wall and the strip.

Now, the carpet pad strips need to be laid down on the new tackless strips. For installing commercial carpet, you would always need a carpet strip, which would overlap the area on the floor by a minimum of 4 inches. Do not forget to keep scrap board underneath the incision in order to shield the underlying carpet. You would not need to make use of a knee kicker to attach as well as stretch the carpet down the tackless strips. The installation would be completed once you tuck the carpet between the tackless strips and wall.
