Government to Aid Borrowers Having Mortgage Repayments
The government of the country made an announcement a few days back that they for now are wishing to slow down the wave of repossessions that has been rising from few days back. Therefore, they are planning to bring respite to the borrowers who are from quite some time fighting back so that they are able to keep their mortgage repayments into their own houses only.
The prime minister arguing about the Queen’s Speech said that the plans that have been formulated have been done so keeping into consideration the borrowers from the middle-income group. This would help the government to slow down the wave of repossession that rose as if in case they lose their jobs. This results in to the costs of the household going up high and high resulting into the mortgage arrears also going high up. In this year by the ending of the month of September it has been reported that almost around 30,000 homes had till now been repossessed. The number is quite high that what is was in the whole of the last year and in addition to this, it is expected the number is further going to go high up in the following year.
The prime minister said that as per the scheme, the household borrowers who have made a loss on some part of their income on a temporary base would be easily able to defer the interest payment of the mortgage. This would be till the coming two years. Now it would be possible that the borrower on their own would be able to have a chat with the lenders regarding a break in the payment. As a result of this by the end of the decided period the sum of interest that would not have been paid would get added to the mortgage that is outstanding till that date. Now in case at that time if that borrower would not be able to make the settlement of the loan then the government is going to step in and would cover the payments that have gone missing.
