This is not possible in the CNC milling. Not just the size, this technique is also used for creating smallest of structures in varied number of shapes.

One great thing about diamond milling is that its cost of the tooling is relatively low and goes up to $3000 for the normal process. Custom ones go up to maximum $8,000. The only charge other than the mentioned above comes while machining the optic. Also, the required surface roughness, structure’s depth and the material that is being milled determines the machining time for the milling.

Different materials are subjected to this kind of milling and the most common materials are plastics and glasses. Plastics are difficult to mill as they are very soft and the process of diamond mill is supposed to be done slowly. The most difficult process is the one of diamond milling of metals like stainless steel and others like gold. Today, with great technological advancements and new inventions, high end efficient and fast machines like Turret lathes, double-end stone milling and polishing machines have come up. This process is the most helpful for diamond machining of difficult materials.
