The most common technique in the field of printing is the Woodblock, mainly used for text, images and patterns that were widely used throughout the globe, most commonly in East Asia and Europe. It originated in China on textiles and later on paper. The earliest existing examples from China are of silk printed with flowers in tri color from the Han dynasty and the woodblock on paper appeared in the mid-seventh century. Examples of woodblock from Rome date to the fourth century.
By the ninth century printing on paper had started its journey, the first complete printed book being the Diamond Sutra. By tenth century thousands of copies of some Sutras were printed and one of the greatest inventions, started paving way to the present day of dominance. With the light of knowledge spreading across the nooks and corners of the world, even the remotest place in the world is getting benefitted from printing industry.
