First step is to prepare a plywood box that is suitable for your instrument. Use nails and glues to fix the pieces together and make sure that the box is properly lined up.

Next step is to remove the lid of the box after putting it together. If you are planning to use handles, hinges or locks then make sure to make enough room for them. It is best to precut holes for hinges and locks that will be used in the process.

Prefer laminated plywood for your box otherwise you have to paint the box manually.

In this step, you need to fix locking extrusions with the help of pop rivets. Use a miter saw to cut them into 45 degree angle. Since you have already made holes, so now you can fix locks, hinges and handles at their locations.

Now you need to cover the edges of the box and you can use cabinet braces in your custom flight case. Use ball corners to cover edgy corners of the case so that it may not lead to a cut while picking the case.

Final step of the process is to cut foam and fix it inside the custom flight case so that it can avoid any type of vibrations during the transport.
