Skilled Migration Australia and 457 Visa

Skilled migration Australia allows foreign workers with skill to work in Australia. In order to apply for skilled migration you will need to be between 18 to 45years of age, need to have functioning English language skills, have work experience and your job should be under the skilled occupation list. To apply you must pass the test point which varies depending on which type of skilled migration visa you choose to apply for. Experience may be waived if you have an Australian degree, diploma or trade qualification gained less than 6 months before you lodge your application.

To be eligible for a skilled migration Australia you will need to score the following points:

• You should score 60 points if you require job with special training like IT, accountant, registered nurse etc and one year of work experience in the last 2 years.

• Job requiring general qualification e.g. journalist, counselor, and fashion and marketing professional you will need 50 points and 2 years of work experience in the last 3 years.

• Job requiring some qualification like manager, financial investment advisor, real estate sales person need 40 points and 2 years of work experience in the last 3 years.

• 18 to 29 years you gain 30 points, 30 to 34 years 25 points, 35 to 39 years 20 points and 44-45 years 15 points.

457 visa is for international workers who have an offer of employment from an Australia employer. The employer must be able to sponsor foreign workers, nominate the occupation you want to fill and the employees you want to fill those positions, cooperate with the department sponsoring requirements, meet obligation as part of the program and recruit the workers to fill the nomination. The employee must accept the offer of employment from the employer, applies for the visa and meets all conditions on the visa.

457 visa is valid for one day to four years, sponsorship is for three years and nomination is twelve months. This visa allows you to work for your sponsoring employer and if the work ends, you have 28 days to find another employer or leave Australia. You cannot be able to sponsor your relatives for permanent residence. If you have an employee who want to apply for a new visa, while the current visa is about to expire, the employee must lodge a new visa application.
