Taj Mahal
Taj Mahal is a world-famous heritage monument sited at the banks of Yamuna River in the city of Agra. It was built by the Mughal emperor Shan Jahan in remembrance of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal that way also famed as the “Symbol of Love”. It was built with rich white marble using many precious gems. Due to its enticing beauty and architecture the Taj Mahal is included into the New Seven Wonders of the World and also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Agra Fort
It is another important tourist attraction and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Agra located just 20 minutes easy walk from the Taj Mahal complex. It is a majestic brick fort originally built by Hindu Sikarwar Rajputs in 11th century and later captured by Mughals and served as the royal residence. Mughal emperor Shan Jahan was also caged inside this fort at the end of his life by his son, Aurangzeb. A marble balcony of Agra Fort also offers wonderful views of Taj Mahal.
