Take an Excursion to the Pious City of Kathmandu
You are an ardent rover who just cannot do without taking a trip abroad and hopping from one location to another. Travelling is one of your passions which let you have a close encounter with diverse places of interest scattered in the world. Let us guess the name of the country you are looking forward to take an expedition to. It can be none other than Nepal. We would like to congratulate you on having chosen the fabulous country of Nepal that would surely take you on a joy ride.
Nepal is the land of mighty Himalayas. As a matter of fact, it is one of the most admired countries that attract a lot of travellers from different parts of the globe. Kathmandu, which is its capital, is the city that exudes charm from every corner you have a close encounter with. Just go on setting off a venture to the city by taking flights to Kathmandu and you will come to know what the city is all about.
It may sound as an aphorism to most of the travellers taking a trip to Kathmandu that it is known as the “Gateway of Mount Everest” and “The Gateway to Nepal”. However, there are various reasons that are largely a part of the cause as to why Kathmandu is one of the most visited cities in the world. Many seem to reckon that the city of Kathmandu is simply choked with temples and nothing else. But it is certainly not true as there are other significant places of interest to be checked out in the city other than its magnificent temples.
It is the largest city in the country and is in shape of a Khukuri knife. Its history dates back to 2000 years. It in fact is a melting point of diverse aspects and is home to cultural groups, historical monuments, amazing tourist spots and architectural wonders.
You can begin your journey by visiting the temples such as Pashupatinath Temple, Changu Narayan Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and Swayambhunath Stupa. Other than the temples, you can make your way to the attractions such as Hanuman Dhoka, Balaju Water Garden, National Museum and Natural History Museum.
Many grab flights to Kathmandu to partake in various festivals in the city. Albeit every day in Kathmandu is full of appeal, there are some days that are celebrated in joie de vivre right through the capital. If you want to relish these festivals, you don’t have to be religious as the people of Kathmandu are open to every religion and are tolerant as well.
