Rajasthan Travel and Tour Operators
Rajasthan is worth visiting for its places of historical interest. Rajasthan travel would cover such places as the Ajmer – Pushkar and the Jaipur palace, the Udaipur lakes, and the forts in the deserts of Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Bikaner. Because of the popularity of Rajasthan as a tourist spot, many old and hitherto neglected palaces have been refurbished and set up as heritage hotels. For a truly “royal” experience, come to Rajasthan.
Most of the architectural delights to be found in Rajasthan were built by the Rajput kings, much before the time of the Mughal influence on Indian architecture. Places to visit in Jaipur include the Janthar Manthar, The Dilwara Temples, Chittorgarh Fort and the Lake Palace. A visit to Bundi will enable you to view the miniature paintings there. Jaipur, known as the Pink City because of the distinctive colour of the sandstone used there, and the exquisite Bara – dari on the Anasagar Lake in Ajmer are also distinctive. A visit to Mount Abu to view the Dilwara temples is also recommended.
Shopping In Rajasthan
Rajasthan is famous for its handicrafts, semi-precious stones and textiles. The jewellery is very artfully designed, and the clothes are colourful and made of many different types of fabric.
Jaipur is famous for its intricate jewellery, while Jaisalmer is known for its yellow stone. Namkeen snacks are a speciality of Bikaner, while the sweets made in Jodhpur are one of a kind. The Bundi paintings are also good buys for some unique art.
Rajasthan Tour Operators
As in any country, there are several categories of tour operators who ply their trade. It would be advisable to select only those Rajasthan tour operators who will meet your requirements. While many Rajasthan tour operators will make many high-sounding claims, proper research is advised before making the final selection. It would be advisable to go for an operator who knows the area well, as well as one who will have a good idea about the requirements that you might have in mind. For a holiday to be planned and executed well, many little things have to be paid attention to, and so you must ensure that the Rajasthan tour operators that you will select have the required sensibilities.
The same caution is to be followed when you plan your Kerala travels as well. A visit to Rajasthan coupled with a visit to Kerala is a good idea if you wish to see two contrasting faces of India.
