More Popular Spanish Cities to Visit
Spain has many delightful cities to visit as it is one of the most popular countries for a holiday vacation. Spain has a very rich and diverse culture, history and traditions in its various cities and towns throughout its different regions.
The heartbeat of Spain can be felt from the numerous and diverse traditions and culture that are currently practiced through the myriad of fiestas and folklore celebrated throughout the year.
The different ancient influences bring on the currently different lifestyles which are unique to Spain while enriching to the tourists at the different cities of Spain.
Barcelona
This is one Spanish city which should not be missed while in Spain. Barcelona has plenty to offer the tourist of all ages; there is the old and new which would astound any visitor especially first time visitors to Barcelona. There are interesting ancient church buildings with unique spires and intricate neo-Gothic architectures which were well planned by famous Catalan architect, Antoni Gaudi.
Gaudi’s structural designs are modern and outstanding with undulating curves and outrageous designs that are meant to call for attention.
On the other hand, Barcelona displays the ancient cobbled streets of its old quarters near Cataluña Plaza. The ancient quarter is a quaint old section where past civilizations have settled with a deep impact on their cultures and traditions.
Other famous ancient landmarks in Barcelona include churches and cathedrals with sculptures erected in honor of Christopher Columbus. There are plenty of museums and art galleries which showcase the artistic talents of the famous local painters such as Picasso.
Madrid
Madrid is the capital of Spain with a busy commercial strand and a most vibrant nightlife. There is no end to offices and pubs, bars and cafés in Madrid to cater to the needs of the residents and visitors in the day or night. Madrid is extremely busy in the day with millions of business transactions happening every hour while the pace does not slow down in the night with the vibrant nightlife available. There are cafes, restaurants and terraces to offer the locals and visitors alike the pleasure of relaxing with a cool drink and some delectable local cuisine.
Madrid also offers many exquisite art galleries and museums that showcase only the best of artistic talents and ancient monumental beauties. There are museums of every kind in Madrid to allow tourists a satisfying insight into the diverse culture of Spain. One would enjoy the Bullfighting museum and Cultural Center which will entertain tourists together with the opera house or the zarzuela theatre.
