Mission Beach San Diego is one of the most unique places in California.
San Diego is one of the most beautiful modern cities in the world. The city is a popular vacation destination for travelers around the world. The most popular reason to vacation in San Diego is the beach! San Diego’s beaches are amazing, and none is larger than Mission Beach, California. Mission Beach is a small peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and Mission Bay. The peninsula has a Boardwalk that runs along the ocean from the Crystal Pier to the Jetty, about 2.5 miles long, and then a sidewalk that runs along Mission Bay, and extends for over 15 miles of bay front, surrounding Mission Bay. Between the Boardwalk on the ocean front and the sidewalk on the Bay Front, the blocks are connected with walking streets called “courts” that allow people to easily walk from the ocean to bay.
Along the courts, one finds quaint cottages built in the original tract in the early 1900’s, as well as modern luxury homes and condominiums. There are many vacation rentals in San Diego, but one might estimate that half of the San Diego vacation rentals are in Mission Beach, or Pacific Beach. The reason is simple: there is no place like this, where you can rent a full sized condo on the ocean front, watch people skate by on the Boardwalk, watch surfers in the waves and dolphins further out in the beautiful blue-green water.
Renting a condo in San Diego generally means renting a condo in Mission Beach. While there are many vacation rentals in downtown San Diego, there are many condo complexes that restrict vacation rentals to 30 days or more. Mission Beach is the key spot for a short term vacation rental, where you can often rent for 2-3 nights to one week in the Fall, Winter and Spring, and on a weekly basis during the Summer. In the summertime, most Mission Beach rentals are rented from Saturday to Saturday in the peak season (last week of June through the third week of September). The typical vacation rental for July is booked as early as January of the same year, or even earlier if you want to be sure to get your favorite spot!
Why do so many people come to vacation in San Diego and get a San Diego vacation rental? The answer is simple. Where else can you come in the middle of summer where it is warm, but not hot, and sit on the deck of your Mission Beach vacation condo while you sip your mojito and watch the waves, while your BBQ smokes a perfect steak? Where else can you have your kids go play on the beach while you can see them from your condo, or just hop over the Boardwalk to put your toes in the sand? In Mission Beach, you can play horseshoes on the beach or volleyball, or surf or body board. Or, you can sip margaritas all day while the beautiful people ride and skate by on the Boardwalk.
In short, San Diego offers one of the best vacation destinations in the United States, where you can escape the desert heat, or the southern humidity and relax in the warm glow of daily sunsets.
