Kolkata is a land which gave birth to the likes of Rabindranath Tagore, Subhas Chandra Bose, Amartya Sen, Satyajit Ray, P. C. Sorcar, most of who have won numerous international awards like Magsaysay award, Nobel peace prize, Oscar etc. This goes to prove that this ‘city of joy’ is a place where Art, Culture, Science and Sports are all encouraged in equal measures. Both the above schools are affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi, as well as recognized by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. Other Schools on the list include St. James’ School, Calcutta Boys School, Modern High School for Girls, La Martiniere for Girls, Don Bosco School, Park Circus, The Heritage School and South Point High School.
