Outdoor TV Aerial Installation – Steps for Setting Up Your Rooftop Antennas
Broadcast television provides good quality reception at low or 0 monthly fees but, if you wish to receive the best quality signals, you will have to install a TV aerial or an antenna. It is best to install a rooftop antenna since it is placed higher above the building thus, it receives signals without any interference. Today, the rooftop tripod antenna is the most commonly used antenna.
In this article, we shall learn about rooftop TV aerial installation.
First of all, you require a short 4 to 6 feet tall mast pipe, a ground rod, cords, a set of electronic tools (nails, hammers, screw drivers and pliers etc.) and long rubber cords. TV aerial installation requires safety and efficiency.
Select a specific mounting site for setup. Don’t place them near the trees because they interfere with their reception process. Use a ladder to climb up. Make sure you have safety gloves and rubber shoes on to prevent any chances of an electric shock. It is recommended that you shouldn’t mount the device on a stormy or rainy day. There are chances of lightening striking on the device.
Secure the mounting kit on your selected soft. Please ensure that the wooden decking present under those shingles are hard because your bolts require a solid surface for better grip. The mount should be secure. Now follow the instructions stated in the user guide. You can make use of an antenna rotator so that you can easily be moved around. Multi-directional aerials do not require a rotator as they can capture signals from all directions.
Now you have to set the cables. Carefully lay the wires down the roof and the walls. Drill holes at regular intervals and secure them with small pins and cable ties. If you don’t want to put up holes everywhere on your walls, you can use a waterproof tape for your benefit. If you’ve previously installed an antenna, you can route the cords along the soffit so that it joins the siding.
After the TV aerial installation process is complete, you can adjust the antenna to a desired height where it receives the best reception. Once you’ve discovered the perfect settings, secure the bolts so that it is firmly attached at that level. Thus, rooftop TV aerial installation is not a hard task. You just need ample of patience and the right tools for this!
