Handling Campaign Signs after Use
Too many campaign sign are being printed and manufactured each year during every campaign cycle like elections, rallies, individual causes and so on. However, it is a serious issue as to what is to be done with the campaign signs, once the campaigns or elections are over. As campaign signs cannot be used more than once (for the issue of campaigning might be something else next time), it is better to recycle the campaign signs after campaigning and use.
A campaign sign can be kept, for it can be used for several purposes. For instance:
• The paper signs can be used to make posters by cutting them into halves. Posters can be used for various purposes; personal and professional. Usually the paper, which is used for campaigning is of high quality, durable and hence, easy to work with.
• Bag signs are not that easy to reuse and recycle but they can be turned inside out to make a new sign. Another way is to dump them into the recycle bins of the municipalities.
• In the case of a corrugated plastic campaign sign, they can be used all over again by simply painting it with a wet paint roller to conceal the earlier writings.
• Many campaign signs are metal framed, usually of steel and aluminum. These can be easily sent to metal recycling centre.
Thus, campaign sign and signs have to be reused and recycled after their primary usage, so that it proves to be economical and eco friendly as well. A whole lot of papers and other materials can be saved by reusing and metals and plastic can be recycled for future usages. This way of recycling of plastics and metals also prove to be beneficial for the environment as plastics are detrimental for nature. Hence, judicious use and after use of campaign signs are very important.
