How many of you have given it a thought as to what is it in life that gives you the most satisfaction? We move in our live doing one activity after the other. Most of them are the routine chores that we need to do to maintain a healthy lifestyle. There are others that need to done so that we can earn money or be able enough to earn money and sustain our own self. But how many of us actually do something that enriches the soul? That brings us happiness and comfort and it is in that activity where we find the pleasure. Lucky are the people who are able to identify their passion in life and luckier are the people who are courageous enough to pursue their passion.

The above lines can be about anyone, a poet, a globetrotter, an artist or a dancer. Dance- the language of the soul, dance- the world of raw passion and freedom, a haven of beauty and grace, of strength and suppleness- dance has been a part of the human civilization since its inception. Where almost every other art had some other purpose than sheer entertainment, dance is believed to be born just for pleasure and the enhancement of the human personality. Over the centuries dance too has evolved in a big way. It is now a full fledge multi-million dollar industry. Though commercialization has crept in, the essence of dance remains the same.

The best part about dance is the wholesome benefits that it offers. Dance is both- a mood lifter and a shape shifter. It works great for people who are suffering from depression or are usually low on enthusiasm in life. Also, the dance moves can do wonders to the shape of your body. But what’s more is that dance works on your body not only from the outside, but inside too. Dance is one of the best exercises for the cardio-vascular system and helps in improving balance and the overall poise of the body. In fact, dance is the only physical activity that has been proved to have an effect on the cognitive skills of a person and has also been used to treat autistic and demented children.
