What is a Bar Stool?
These are found in Pubs, Bars, or even residential homes. They are tall and often come with a footrest. Due to their height and narrowness, they are suitable for use in Public houses and Bars but presently they are also being used in homes at the kitchen or home bars. As they have varied styles, they are becoming more and more popular than the common wooden stool. They accentuate the theme of a home. They provide a higher view while eating, drinking or socializing and add to the ambience given the right stool.
Constructions:
There are various constructions. Bar stools can be made of wood or metal. They can come with or without armrests, back and padding on the seat surface. Their range begins from the basic wooden designs to the extremely detailed ones with the custom height for the perfect fit.
Commercial settings:
In Pubs, Bars, restaurants, the like swivel, and floor-mounted ones are common. In case of the floor mounted, the stools are less likely to be moved, stolen or used as a weapon. These are generally mounted on a column and the ones with legs can be fixed to the floor using metal angles.
Height:
This depends on the height of the Bar stool and table and is usually 9 to 12 inches shorter than the bar table. The normal seat height of these stools is 30 inches with those used in kitchen counters being 26 inches tall. The extra tall ones are 36 inches, which are used in contemporary styles with high tables. They give the modern interiors a striking visual effect.
Material used:
Some of them can be made of rattan or bamboo and are useful in creating a Tiki bar effect. For the retro look, one can opt for the chrome and vinyl ones .In commercial premises stacking stools are preferred for their space saving qualities. Aluminum is used for outdoor purposes while wood and upholstered is preferred for indoors and traditional settings.
