Envelopes have been present as far as 15th century when kings used them to send messages across their kingdoms. Even then the use and importance of envelopes was realized. The main purpose of an envelope is to secure a message/card/paper/money and seal it. The envelope protects the message and has space on it in which you can write the name and address of the receiver.

Somehow they are much more eye-catchy than the plain ones. They can be ordered in different sizes. Some envelopes maybe square, bigger while others are regular rectangular shapes.
