The province of La Rioja is blessed with natural beauty and natural resources. It is a historical province and for the same reasons it has a vast culture having historical as well as modern influence in it. The province turns lively whenever the festivals are celebrated in it. That is probably the best time to visit La Rioja in Spain.One of the famous festivals in the province is San Mateo Festival. It is celebrated in the month of September every year. This festival is famous because it’s liked by most of the tourists to the region. It lasts for a week and it starts on the 20th of September. Another great festival in the region is San Benabe Festival. It is celebrated on 11th of June every year. In this festival people eat fish with bread and they drink wine. There are theatre performances as the part of festival.

The carnivals are celebrated in the month of February every year in La Rioja. Similarly the Easter is enjoyed in the month of March mostly. Christmas festivities start on 18th of December and there are many events and competitions as part of these festivities. There are competitions held for children, concerts organized and various other events held during the Christmas celebrations. These festivals are more entertaining in the capital city rather than in other parts of the province. The province is full of visitors from Spain and from many other parts of world when the festivals are held in it. These visitors enjoy the festivals and along with that they enjoy visiting various places in the region. They take full advantage of exploring places in the region.

Along with that many visitors go for adventure sports, winter sports and lots of other activities which they get a chance to do.There are many ancient churches in the province and they are decorated well especially when the religious festivals are on the go. The visitors usually head towards San Cosme Church, Santo Tomas Church, Santa Clara convent and Nuestra Senorde Monastery for exploring these historical and spiritual places. Apart from that many visitors enjoy the landscapes, rivers, valleys, and cuisines of the province. They stay at lavish Paradors and they eat tasty cuisines in the region to enjoy times. That way they enjoy the festivities as well as they get refreshed with the natural beauty of the region.
