The different Types of Outdoor Lighting

There are numerous reasons for which most people prefers including some form of an outdoor lighting for both residential as well as commercial properties. Their inclusion not only illuminates the surroundings and helps in making the place visually elegant but in the process also increases the safety and security. There are several types as well as designs of such form of exterior lighting to choose from, each of which is typically meant to serve some specific applications of their own.

Accent: - These are used most often to garner attention to certain aspects of a landscape, say a piece of sculpture or a tree. This type can be further sub classified into two major sub domains- back illumination and down illumination.

Low Voltage Illumination: - This type of fixture is mostly solar powered and that is why the intensity is significantly on the lower side. They are typically used for driving the driveways, decks and paths mainly because of their lower electrical consumption.

Security Illumination: - For people who possess bigger properties covering a lot of open space, the security of the surroundings can be enhanced significantly using security lighting. These lights are bright and intense and capable of illuminating a majority part of the yard which makes it difficult for burglars to break into the property unnoticed.

Submersible Outdoor Lighting: - As understandable from the name itself, these types of fixtures are mainly meant to be used beneath the surface of water. This is not only going to light the pond, lake, pool, spa or fountain but will also make the place look much decorative as well.
