Save Your Space
This is important for any outdoor environment, but especially for urban dwellers. Do not make the mistake of complicating the space by overpopulating it. Outdoor areas should be kept simple and spacious, so choose products and a design that are inviting to everyone. Less is sometimes more; it is better to have only 1-2 centerpieces that bring style to the area, rather than a cluttered and confused environment.
Aim For Transition
Too many homes have an outdoor area that bares no resemblance to the interior. Whilst it is ok to aim for something bold in terms of colour or design, you should always aim for a seamless transition from the indoor to outdoor area. This involves products that have a complimentary design or “flow” from the interior, turning the outdoor area into a natural extension of the inside environment.
Suit Your Natural Environment
For an urban environment, aim for simple, sleek products that don’t monopolize the more limited space you’re working with. For a coastal location, relaxation is key so opt for products with lighter shades and natural textures that create a calming relaxed atmosphere. For a more spacious country environment, you obviously have more space to work with; furniture can be both larger and more intricate in design, and ornamental-style detailing can work brilliantly.
Soft Lighting
To create a cozy and relaxed environment, use outdoor lamps, soft lighting or even candle features to bring warmth and comfort to your outdoor area.

Wherever in the world you are reading this, for at least a few months each year ( and more if you are lucky) the weather is warmer and outdoor living becomes more attractive – I sincerely hope these tips help you to improve this part of your home.
