There are many different parameters which are involved in this process and the cost too varies according to the type of PCB prototype that you want. Top quality 2 and 4 layer circuit board manufacturing companies try to give you the best possible performance, charging anywhere up to $50 per board. There are additional charges when you want bottom silkscreen. The turnaround type for the manufacture is also quite low and usually the PCB is made available to you within a week or two.

You can have as many as 6 layers on a PCB if you wanted. The 7 mil trace or 14 mil hole processes are used with solder mask in green, red, black, white and blue.
