dolch sight words are the list of common words which are easy to learn and while training a kid these words are the first lot of words that the kid is taught. It was first compiled by Edward William Dolch in 1948 in a book called problems in reading. This was compiled from children’s book, there were 220 words that were called service words, and separate 95 words were called nouns. As many of those words could not be read out and just sight could read them out, they are also known as sight words.

The first grade sight words are all those words that need to be learned by all kids in the 1st grade so that they can read out a text in the first standard books correctly. Today also, students of first standard are able to read them out through sights and this is the minimum standard that they need to maintain. These words are after, again, an, any, as, ask, by, could, every, fly, from, give, giving, had, has, her, him, his, how, just, know, let, live, may, of, old, once, open, over, put, round, some, stop, take, thank, them, then, think, walk, were, and when.

It is important for the children to lean the spelling of these words first as they are the easiest ones. There are different ways they can be trained to learn the spelling. In the beginning, they will be asked to go through the spelling for five words and a fill in the black question will be given to them where they need to guess the missing letters. The same will be repeated for the next five words. It is even better when they learn it with a fun element. This is possible through computer. Here the computer will give them exercise and they will solve it happily. There are some website which have made it really easy and helping the kids every day.
