Author: DirectRooms1 | Posted: 29.11.2011The Malaysian city of Kota Kinabatu has only one airport but it has two terminals and is one of the busiest airports in Malaysia.
Terminal 1 handles all international flights, and Malaysia Airlines domestic flights. The terminal is spacious and has plenty of facilities for travellers.
On the departures floor there is a McDonald’s that is open 24 hours a day and offers WiFi connection, and a Coffee To Go, an Italian food outlet serving from 6 a.m. until midnight.
The Deli France chain also have an outlet that is becoming popular with travellers who sometimes prefer to purchase a Deli France takeaway to eat on their flight.
Terminal 2 is used by low cost airlines and, since an update in 2007, facilities have improved and there is a good selection of food outlets for passengers.
There are two eateries situated on the 1st floor. The Asia Delight Café serves pasta and other light Western food, as well as local specialities.
On the same floor is a Kentucky Fried Chicken, one of the most popular fast food outlets in Malaysia. Like McDonald’s, it has 24-hour service and WiFi.
With food and drink available on a 24 hours basis, the airport is popular with backpackers as it is possible to stay the night in the terminals between flights, but passengers who prefer a little more comfort will find Kota Kinabalu Airport hotels are plentiful, and lie just three or four kilometres from the terminals.
