Over 1000 elephants were used to transport building materials during the construction. For decoration purpose there were 28 types of precious and semi-precious stones were used and inlaid into the white marble.

One of the most interesting but very awful facts about the Taj is Emperor ordered to cut off workers’ hand who had constructed the Taj Mahal so no one could construct the another building like this.
