Ideas to Keep Costs Low

Producing a yearbook is an investment that may seem high at times, but it is definitely worth it when you consider how many memories it will allow you to treasure for years and years to come. Not only that, but there are things you can do to keep your costs as low as possible:

• Proofread your file and make sure all mistakes are caught before sending the file to the printer. This way, you won’t have to get a second proof, which would incur additional costs.

• Reduce your number of pages by decreasing the size of your photos and headlines. This is a balancing act because you want to be sure your photos and headlines are large enough to be seen well, but small enough that your page count is kept to a minimum.

• Create collages of all the candid shots pertaining to a theme instead of picturing each photo separately. This way, you can reduce a lot of unnecessary space around the subject matter, reducing the amount of pages the photos take up.

• Look at different materials and binding types. For example, you could go with a softbound book instead of a hardbound book to reduce your overall costs. You could also compare different cover options, such as a foil stamped cover verses a printed cover.
