The Empire State Building in USA became the tallest building in the world in 1931. At an astounding 1,250 feet, it was a majestic accomplishment in the field of Commercial Construction. Built in duration of less than 15 months instead of the anticipated 18, the total price for this 103 storied structure was a jaw-breaking $24.7 million. A huge number of work forces worked to complete the project applied fast-track construction, a method that was very popular in early 20th century. The 10 million bricks needed for this gigantic commercial construction project, were moved up and down the floor with the help of a hopper and parachutes, a technique which has become obsolete now. Simultaneous external construction and internal works of wiring and plumbing were done to minimize the number of days of work. In addition to steel frame, concrete, limestone, granite, marble were also used. Finally, this phenomenon of commercial construction was created on April 11, 1931, which was authoritatively opened on May 1, 1931 by President Herbert Hoover.
