Expectations of CISRS Safety Training Scaffolding Courses

More and more construction companies and consumers are demanding CISRS qualified personnel to take on scaffolding works at the work site. Safety and health issues are very important factors of consideration to these parties as stipulated by the local Health & Safety authorities.

There are many aspects to scaffolding works which one must be aware of; even for the casual worker. These types of scaffolding knowledge and skills are important to the safety of the workers and public at and near the work site.

Course learning

CISRS safety training for scaffolding Part 1 teaches construction workers about scaffolding in fitting and tube components. There are many types of scaffolding systems which would be introduced to the construction workers such as Cuplok, Kwikstag, Haki, Layher, Plus 8 and Rux with basic scaffolding ties and methods identified. Although CISRS safety training courses are very short in duration, their schemes are very structured to be impactful and effective when the learners embrace the contents and approaches correctly. CISRS offers SSPTS which is the popular System Scaffold Product Training scheme using Scaffom-rux Ringscaff while the CISRS SITS is the Basic Scaffold Inspection Training Scheme.

These safety training schemes include the proper harness inspection skills and routines to ensure a built up of competency in harness inspection; similarly, there is the operations management in scaffolding and risk awareness components to build up the learners’ ability to handle big construction projects confidently.

These schemes also include rescue training and incorporate rescue plans for any possible hazards and danger that might crop up. Scaffold materials understanding is crucial to determine the safety and success of the project on any site; hence, a CISRS safety training course need to help learners identify the preferred scaffold materials like aluminum and asbestos without endangering the workers and public at the work site.

Course progression

A CISRS scaffold safety training course is not a standalone course; it is a stepping stone to other courses which can enhance the job opportunities of its graduates. After the basic CISRS course, one can progress on to the next level CISRS course after a period of live experience to gain the NVQ Diploma.
