Of late, Drunk driving has become a fashion among the young generation. Even the middle-aged persons sometimes resort to such uncivil behavior. Their lack of ethics is another reason to which such a reckless way of driving can be attributed. There is gradual degeneration in every field and this degeneration is quite pervasive. Degeneration of morals seems to be the most probable cause for this irresponsibility. Day by day people are becoming indifferent to the suffering of their fellow citizens. That is why every now and then you come across news about road accidents and deaths resulting from drunk driving.

In those incidents, the innocent victims have to bear the brunt usually. Drinking and driving seems to go hand in hand nowadays. A person out of sheer madness and excitement sometimes gives too much indulgence to drinking, in spite of being repeatedly warned by his friends or well-wishers, ignores their advice and commits the blunder. That person does not know that by mixing drinking and driving he is going to be the cause of death of either an innocent passerby or his own. A passerby may be walking in a safe manner but drinking will spoil the intellect of the driver. Drinking causes drowsiness in the drunkard and he tends to be less alert. This is enough to cause an accident.

That is why such indulgence and irresponsible behavior should be strongly condemned. Strict laws should be made to prevent the individuals from driving in an intoxicated state. If anyone is found to violate these rules that person should be fined heavily and should be given 10 years of imprisonment. In dire cases, capital punishment must be enforced on the convict. This will make a significant difference in maintaining the law and order of a state. The people should be always discouraged from driving while they are drunk. After all, human life is precious and such kind of mindset should not be tolerated.
