Cakes are real delight. They are mouth-watering and soft enough to melt hearts. They are reported to be used about 1900 years by Romans. During the wedding ceremonies, the Romans would eat cakes made of wheat and salt. These cakes made of wheat were a symbol of fertility and properity. The Romans took them as a sign of good fortune. Wheat cakes were thought to be as a blessing for life. This idea was adopted by the whole world later and cakes became a necessity for every occasion especially, marriages.

Although cakes are available in different flavors, vanilla and chocolate are the most common. Among these two flavors, people love chocolate cakes the most. Chocolate cakes are the most eaten desserts and are available in different shapes, sizes and varieties. They surprise with their soft and spongy nature. As soon as you let a piece enter your mouth, sweet chocolate starts melting inside your mouth. Kids love chocolate and when it comes to chocolate cakes, they’ll do anything for it. Now you got a great idea to make you child do his homework. Thousands of times you have relished on chocolate cakes of different types but did you ever give a thought on them except for their taste? Cakes are hundreds of years old. Dr. James Baker is given the credit of baking the first chocolate cake in history. He ground cocoa beans and mixed with the dough to make it taste like chocolates. After several discoveries and inventions later, an innovative method was developed. This was known as conching. Swiss Radolphe developed this method to make silkier, smoother and lighter chocolate cakes. For a long time chocolate was being used in drinks but few bakers adopted the methods of mixing chocolate with cakes. These were the first hints of chocolate in cakes.

The 1980s saw the era when chocolate became really popular among people for its unique melting flavor. People loved chocolate candies that were sold in different flavors like pepper, tea, curry, champagne, etc. During this time, liquid chocolate filled cakes became popular which made the world understand the importance of chocolate in cakes. The bakers who sold such cakes targeted kids as they knew kids loved chocolates. Although other flavors of cakes were readily available, people chose chocolate flavor to make their celebrations more happening.

Now coming back to modern times, cakes are still loved, relished and cherished. People love sharing chocolate cakes with their friends and families. Many celebrations seem incomplete without them. Today, you may find chocolate cakes of different types being sold at any cake shop . Chocolate pastries are delicious snacks and perfect for small get-togethers. The love for chocolate cakes is still growing as more and more bakeries open each day. Soon there would be no man left on earth who would not have tasted and loved chocolate cakes.
