Brussels Things to Do
Author: DirectRooms1 | Posted: 29.11.2011Whether you are looking for an action packed holiday or a relaxed week away, the city of Brussels can offer plenty to interest you.
Why not visit the Cantillon Brewery, open Monday to Saturday? This is the last remaining traditional brewery in Brussels as it still uses natural yeast fermentation, with all natural ingredients. You can take a tour around the brewery and sample the natural beer. The brewery has a museum-esque feel to it, but is still fully functioning and fascinating for anyone interested in brewing, or indeed drinking beer! Do not forget to take some bottles home with you.
For something more unusual, pay a visit to the gorgeous Musical Instruments Museum, home to more than 7,000 instruments. With an incredible collection of instruments and a breathtaking rooftop restaurant, this is a really special experience. There is a headphone system to allow each visitor to enjoy the music and sound of the instruments on display.
The Palais des Beaux-Arts, referred to as the “Bozar,” is a cultural centre including a concert hall, cinema and exhibition space. There are always things going on here so it is definitely worth visiting at some point during your stay. For a great history of film making, visit the Musee du Cinema-Filmmuseum – this is free to explore and you can also see cult films here for low prices.
As there are so many great hotels in Brussels, you will probably have a hard time deciding on the right one for you, however, a centrally located hotel will allow you to enjoy the city’s main attractions at your convenience.
