Abu Dhabi the Corniche Attractions

One of the most prominent tourist attractions in the whole of Abu Dhabi is the Corniche. The Corniche refers to a long road which runs around six kilometres (four miles) all the way from the Sheraton Hotel to the Hilton Hotel. Now, with its public parks and fountains, the extraordinary landscape of the Corniche has made it itself one of the city’s most essential attractions. There are many spectacular gardens around the Corniche, as well as a separate cycle lane which has been constructed for the benefit of Abu Dhabi’s numerous cycling enthusiasts. The eastern side of the Corniche has benefited from an extension in recent times, done in order to decrease traffic congestion to one of the area’s most popular tourist spots, and to provide access to yet more superb gardens.

The Corniche provides easy access to many of the city’s beaches, including one which is named after the Corniche and which extends almost as long as the road itself. While a popular and bustling attraction, the Corniche beach is still ideal for those looking for a bit of peace and quiet and somewhere to relax, as many sections of the beach have been cordoned off specifically for those who wish to use the beach for those very purposes. There are also official swimming areas which are patrolled by lifeguards.

Almost any Abu Dhabi hotel will give easy access to the Corniche, so any visitor to the area should leave their hotel (Abu Dhabi has many to choose from) and explore the road and beach of the Corniche.
