York is one of the UK's most well known tourist hotspots. With so many activities to choose from, such as guided tours of the city, visits to museums and art galleries and viewing ancient and historical landmarks, there should be some form of entertainment for everybody. Most hotels in York City Centre are very close to the popular tourist destinations, either within walking distance or by bus.

Visiting Attractions

There are a large number of attractions in York. With the Yorkshire pass, visitors to the city will be able to experience all of the best loved landmarks and entertainment centres in the city. With 27 attractions to choose from, ticket holders will be able to visit any attraction throughout the day, as many times as they would like. Passes are available for select time periods, from one to six days. Attractions that are included are York Dungeon, Fairfax House and the National Railway Museum.

Guided Tours

Two of the most popular past-times include taking the York open bus tour and the York River cruise. The open bus tour will take visitors around the city in a double decker bus, and provide commentary from a professional tour guide. There are various stopping areas throughout the city, giving visitors the opportunity to get on and off as they please. The river cruise tour will depart from either King's Staith or Lendal Bridge. On this tour visitors can relax at the bar and watch the city pass by with commentary provided by the boats captain.
