Things to Do in Vilamoura

There is so much to do in Vilamoura; you will be hard pressed to pack it all in. Because the town is a purpose-built resort, it has been designed to provide plenty of activities for the whole family. Hotels in Vilamoura range from the extremely luxurious to the family friendly, meaning that the multitude of activities on offer cater for all tastes and ages.

Sports

There are two beautiful beaches on either side of the marina and the resort is famous for its numerous golf courses and a wide variety of water sports and boat trips. There is a tennis centre with 12 courts available for hire and, as well as the championship golf courses, the less experienced and young at heart can try their skills on the Roma mini and crazy golf courses in the centre of the town.

Water parks and zoos

There are three water parks within easy reach of Vilamoura; Aquashow near Quarteira, Atlantic Park near Almancil and Aqualand in Alcantarilha all of which offer a great day out for the whole family. For a day out with the children, Zoomarine in Guia has great dolphin and sea lion shows and tropical bird displays. The centre also has some water rides which are suitable for all ages.

Quad bikes

Visitors can also try their hand at quad-biking with Algarve Quad Bike Tours who will pick you up from your hotel and take you off-road around the Algarve on tours lasting from an hour through to an entire day. These excursions are enormous fun and a fantastic way to explore the local scenery.
