There are a lot of things to see and do close to many of the hotels in Madrid City Centre, making it very convenient for tourists. With a wide range of different shopping facilities on offer, a selection of pubs, clubs and bars and some impressive buildings and parks, you will never be stuck for something to do.

The Royal Palace is well worth a visit during your stay in Madrid. The architecture is stunning and you will get a real sense of prestige and inspiration when you see the palace. It provides some great photo opportunities, especially at the forecourt where you can see the guards and their horses parading on a regular basis.

Museums such as the Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen-Bornemisza are ideal for art lovers, as they feature either contemporary or historical masterpieces.

Sports fans can watch a game of football at the Real Madrid Bernabeu Stadium, while shopping addicts can visit the Rastro street market to pick up some great bargains or unusual pieces. El Corte Ingles and FNAC are big department stores that have a lot of different items for sale. They are great for finding a gift for your loved ones back home. For a high fashion fix, Princesa, Chueca, Salamanca, Cuatro Caminos and Puerta del Sol are the best places to go.

Nature lovers can enjoy the Royal Botanic Garden which features various flowers and plants from across the globe. A walk along the lake in the Retiro Park is another perfect way to spend the day.

There is plenty of food to choose from in Madrid, with a huge number of cafes, tapas bars, restaurants and cocktail bars, many of which offer live entertainment such as flamenco dancing or music. There are many venues that offer concerts featuring local and international bands, as well as theatre productions throughout the week.
