Things to Do in Lille City Centre

There are many things to do close to several of the hotels in Lille City Centre. Whether it is shopping, sightseeing, museums or zoos, there is something for everyone to embrace and enjoy.

For art lovers, the museums of Le Musee d’Art Moderne and Musee des Beaux Arts are highly recommended, with their stunning art collections on display. The Cathedral Notre-Dame-de-la Treille has stunning French architecture with a gothic style. The Citadel of Lille is another top tourist attraction and is a pentagon shaped building. Other popular landmarks include Vieux Lille, Vieille Bourse, Manoir de l’Estracelles, Institut Micheleh and Wambrechies Gin Distillery. Lille Zoo is a great day out for both adults and children, with an adventure playground and lots of animals to go and see, as well as stunning grounds to walk around.

Lille has a wide selection of clubs, pubs, bars, cafes and restaurants on offer in which to enjoy the evenings. There are many forms of musical and dance entertainment going on at the several theatres and music venues in the area, from rock music, to opera and comedy.

Visit the markets for some bargains or to soak up the local French culture. The best ones are the Wazemmes Market, the Concert Market and the Sebastopol Market, but be sure to check what days and times they are open before visiting. The Old Lille area has many designer fashion items on offer, as well as antique stores and art galleries. You can even take a guided tour of the area if you prefer to be shown around the best sights.
