When you go to Mallorca you will want to stay outside as much as you can, and there are few better ways to do that than by sailing. That’s because sailing is easily the most popular water sport in Mallorca. Several sailing events take place every year and sailors come from around the world to attend them. The King’s Cup is among these, as is the Princesa Sofia Trophy event. Most of the coastal towns in Mallorca have their own marina, visited by sailors from all around Europe. Tourists can board boats for days or even weeks, and hourly rental is also available.

Beaches

Of course, you cannot visit Mallorca without checking out the legendary beaches. Many of these are near the hotels in Mallorca, making them convenient for many visitors. You can swim, bathe, and enjoy the facilities. It is advisable to show up quite early in the day, as the beaches can become crowded later in the day.

Golfing

Many tourists don’t realise that golf is a very popular sport in Mallorca and golf courses fill the island. Of all the Spanish islands, the highest concentration of golf courses exists in Mallorca. These course most often offer equipment rentals and golf lessons can be booked in advance. Since they offer the opportunity to play golf in beautiful surroundings, these courses are not to be missed.

Hiking

A popular activity, especially in the mountainous regions of Mallorca, hiking affords tourists the opportunity to see the nature the island has to offer. Though difficult at points, some of the island trails lead through the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range. The views alone make these trails worth traversing.
