Problems in the homes that are caused by weather conditions such as dampness, rainfall, extremes of heat or cold and snow are common these days despite so many technological advancements. These weather conditions have not been able to be tackled by the best construction materials such as concrete, masonry stone, natural stones etc. In this scenario, the waterproofing services are the best way to ensure that the interiors and the exteriors of the home remain protected from these weather conditions and that the durability and health of the structure is maintained.

Researches show that more than 90% of the weather intrusion problems occur in less than 1% of the external area. Now what defines this 1% area? Well, it is the area of special joints, perpendiculars of the walls etc. This area is spread all over the external structure of the house and therefore only a complete envelope waterproofing can help overcome it. It should also be noted that the most common reason for the need of waterproofing is the shortcomings and discrepancies that arise right from the designing and installation process while the structure is still taking its shape.

The complete waterproofing or enveloping of the home consists of waterproofing of the walls, basement, ceiling and the roofs. The advantages of the waterproofing with the best quality materials and latest techniques include the following:

1. Waterproofing prevents the water penetration and different sorts of other weather intrusion to the structure.

2. It prevents the conditions of the structural damage to the building to grow.

3. It prevents the passage of materials that trigger steel deterioration and palling of concrete.

4. Waterproofing prevents the structural material to swell or weaken thereby increasing the chances of development of cracks.

5. Waterproofing acts as a complete weather barrier, from heat and cold and from water and snow as well.

6. It makes the structure tightly guarded against the wind.

Some of the key areas that should be dealt with care while opting for

waterproofing of the house are kitchens, bathrooms and toilets, roofs and walls that carry the water pipes etc. One should always have the proper knowledge of the area of concern and the extent of problem. This is important as various contractors try to cheat the owners by making the problem look bigger than it actually is. They try to overcharge the owners by taking advantage of their ignorance about the problem and they multiply the concerns by using their technical knowledge in cheating. If the owner has the knowledge of just the problem area and the extent of problem, it is not difficult to gauge if the contractor is trying to cheat.

There are different types of waterproofing solutions available for those who do not wish to take up the enveloping. These include the paints that are aimed at just repairing the cracked walls and gaps in bricks, paints that are helpful in paving, paints for the preparation for waterproofing processes. One should also look for designer tiles and fixtures like wooden boards and metallic planks to make the waterproofing look more aesthetically pleasing.
