How to Choose the Best Color for the Office
If you own a particular business establishment, you have the power to decide what colors should be painted on the walls. Since there are different types of rooms in a particular business establishment, there are various color themes that you should consider as well. Choosing the right colors might help increase the productivity of your business establishment as well as improve the mental health of the people working inside it. Here are common rooms found in any business establishment and the colors that you might want to consider.
• Reception area – Also known as the lobby, this is the first thing that people who enter the business establishment will see. Therefore, its color has to provide a lasting impact on any person who enters it. The color of your reception area might be dependent on the type of business that you are running. Most corporate establishments use different shades of green. Obviously, green symbolizes wealth. But if your are running a dental clinic or any establishment that is related to medicine, you might want to consider using white with a combination of relaxing colors such as blue, soft orange, or beige.
• Office area – If you are running a corporate establishment, there is one particular area where all of your employees work together. The office area needs to feature a color that would encourage your employees to be more productive and more efficient. Never use colors such as blue or pink since these colors can make your employees tired and unproductive. These are the colors which are used in bedrooms. You should not use them unless you want to see your employees sleeping on their desks. Try painting the walls with energizing colors such as red and yellow. But do not have the walls painted with a single color since they would be unpleasing to look at.
• Multi-purpose rooms – These are the rooms where you conduct business meetings with your team leaders. These are also the rooms where your team leaders meet with their subordinates to discuss business matters. These rooms also serve as lecture rooms for new employees or trainees. These rooms have to be as comfortable as possible. Various shades of yellow are very recommendable since yellow encourages people to speak up. Turquoise is a very appropriate color as well.
• Employer's room – This is where you work. It must be comfortable but it should also look very professional at the same time. Dark green, burgundy, and navy blue gives the atmosphere of seriousness while gray suggests the idea of professionalism. Light colors should never be considered as the main color for your room. This is because light colors are a little unprofessional. Avoid using too much red since this can make you hotheaded.
These are the colors that you might want to consider for your business establishment. Before having your walls painted by professionals, you might want to ask for expert opinion first. Ask those who are experts in color combination if the colors that you have selected are perfect for a particular room in your office.
