A denture is a device known as Prosthodontic device which restores absent tooth in the oral cavity. The dentures are practice prepared for the people who have completely or partial absent teeth and organizing them on that base, they are two types Partial and Complete Dentures.

Complete Dentures:

These complete dentures are created to coat the whole arch and engaged in patients who have missing all their teeth either in the mandibular arch or maxillary arch or both. These dentures in lower jaw are hard to handle than the upper jaws as they are liable to find transferred simply because of the lack of suction. An over denture is a small alteration of complete denture in which small number of teeth stay which are reduced and the denture fixes over it. This Overdenture has various benefits such as natural teeth contributes some bite force at the time of biting, stability of the denture is better and the remaining natural teeth protect the bone. But this Overdenture is very costly and also requires regular protection to protect from gum disease and decay.

Partial Dentures:

Partial dentures coat some of absent teeth but not the all jaw. Partial dentures are of two kinds Fixed and Removable.

Fixed Partial Denture:

Fixed Partial Dentures mainly named as “Bridges” which are tiled in the proper place. Bridges are selected removal partial dentures as they are contented and improved look like natural teeth but they need strong teeth for their hold and also they are very costly.

Removable Partial Denture:

These partial dentures can be snapped back and removed and when preferred. They include metal framework with artificial teeth and metal grasps which support the denture in spot.

There is another special kind of removable dentures are the Nesbit Denture and Flipper Denture.

How Are Dentures Made?

The denture progress procedure consumes three weeks to 1month and requires various meetings. Once your prosthodontist or dentist verifies what kind of device is better for you. Given below are some of the steps:

Produce a sequence of ideas of your jaw and take dimensions of how the jaws relate to one another and also how much gap is in them.

Make models, wax forms or plastic patterns in the correct position and shape of the denture to be completed. You can undertake this mold various times and denture will be evaluated for shape, fix and color prior the ultimate denture is cast.

Cast an exact denture and then alterations will be done as required.
