Basically it is an eye condition where the eye-lids gets itchy, red and swelling occurs at the base of the eyelashes. This condition cannot be cured however it can be controlled and treated .If you do not take care of it, it can become a serious problem for you like you can have an injury and scarring to the eye tissue. These are some of the steps which can be followed to treat this problem:

• Wet a clean wash cloth in warm water. Squeeze the wash cloth, and it is to be placed over the closed eyelids for at least 5 minutes. Again wet it to maintain the preferred temperature. This will help in softening the crust and loosening oily debris.

• The wet warm wash cloth is to be placed over the index finger and a diluted solution of mild soap and a baby shampoo is to be applied.

• One eye is to be cleansed at a time. Using the horizontal strokes, rub the wash cloth using your finger over the eye lashes gently.

• Clean carefully with a clean wet warm washcloth. Let your eye gets dry.
