Does the name Nikki Berwick or Chad Stalheski rings a bell? In about ninety percent of the cases, the answer would be a big “no”. Well, we are not blaming you per se for a lack of knowledge. These people are no stars after all, although they deserve as many accolades as the latter. Both these people had worked as stunt persons in major movies, working their way through dangerous action sequences which continue to mesmerize us back though time.

Stunts performed by these people had, therefore, made history on more occasions than one. Stuntmen have been around ever since the very inception of the motion picture industry. Hollywood, in particular, uses these professionals to perform dangerous physical feats that lead actors would otherwise avoid because of the risks involved. A stuntman’s career and life, it goes without saying, is fraught with risks. On a better note, the person concerned gets to work in close coordination with the production team, rub shoulders with famous actors and complete a series of amazing tasks. Keeping such considerations in mind, it won’t be difficult to predict that the road to stunt jobs in Hollywood is not an easy one. Apart from determination, it also requires great deal of patience and of course some amount of luck.

In finding job as a stuntman in Hollywood, it is essential to detect your expertise level. A background in hardcore physical activity may prove handy. This can come in various forms such as through military training, athletics, recreational daredevil activities and martial arts. And just in case your back ground does not seem to match this criterion, enroll for a course at a reputed stunt school.

Before you hit the job market, be sure to get a resume and headshot prepared in the first place. The resume appears on the headshot’s back. It should ideally include your weight, height, eye color and hair color. List acting credits, if any. Get them sorted into categories like theater, television and films. The emphasis, nonetheless, should remain on your physical training background. If possible, add a special skills category to feature important details like skills, experience and stunt training.
