How Interactive Boards are Effective for Children in Schools
Classroom has always been an uninteresting zone for the students. However, many changes have come after the introduction of Interactive boards. An interactive board is a large interactive display on the boards that connects to a computer and projector. A projector projects the computer's desktop on the surface of the board where users control the computer using a pen, finger or any other device. The board is usually hung on to a wall. An interactive board is a device connected to the CPU of a computer with the help of USB or a serial port wire or wirelessly by the use of Bluetooth.
Now Schools are adopting the new method of teaching. Interactive boards are replacing chalk boards. With interactive boards the teaching process has become easy. There is no more requirement of making use of dusty chalks henceforth. In interactive boards the entire process is digital. The teaching and learning procedures becomes simple and easy understand to understand as the students are exposed to visuals. Visuals generally hit the human mind strongly and people do not forget it once they see it. For instance when we go through a novel, we often tend to not remember many words but when it comes to watch a film, we keep every scene and even sometimes the dialogues of the film in our mind even after a year or many years. The same differentiation is in the case of chalk boards and interactive boards.
Teachers can record their instruction as evidence in digital video files and send them for analysis by the students. In this way, there is no need for teachers to repeat the same instructions many times. Students who have missed the class can also view the lecture in later days. It also gives the scope the students to record blocks for review. Later, they can see the exact presentation that happened in the classroom with the teacher's audio input. The interactive board usually allows the teachers to keep notes and explanations as an electronic file for distribution later on.
In India, the schools especially in the metro cities are going fast for smart classes which mean they are replacing their chalk boards by interactive boards. Interactive boards are available in most of the top schools of the cities. And, even many schools in towns are also opting for the new method of teaching. Along with making the teaching- learning process easier, Interactive boards also makes the classrooms interesting. Students as well as teachers who were earlier tired of something with the monotonous style of teaching do not need to worry from now onwards. Interactive boards also fulfill all the demands of chalk boards and also provide the class room a new atmosphere. Students learn many things out of it and do not miss a single thing as the visuals leave a different impact in the minds of the students unlike the impact of black boards.
The Interactive boards have proved to bring a deeper change in the atmosphere as well as the teaching style of the teachers. It not only helps the students to go deeper into the instructions provided by their teachers but also helps the teachers to deliver their lecture in an effective manner.
