A Discussion on Cancer Tissues
Over decades cancer continues to be the most fatal threat to human lives. In actual cancer is a group of various diseases causing uncontrollable growth of cells, forming malignant tumor and invading different parts of the body. The major causes of cancer are consumption of tobacco in different forms, obesity, pollution and other environmental factors. The usual treatments of cancer are chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery but any guaranteed cure of cancer is yet to come. Cancers are of two types’ sarcomas and carcinomas. A carcinoma is tumor tissue derived from epithelial cells with significantly altered or damaged genomes resulting the cells become transformed and exhibiting abnormal malignant properties. Sarcoma is a type of cancer developing from bones and muscle tissues.
Carcinoma is the common type of cancer affecting lungs, breasts, prostate, colon and rectum and pancreas while sarcoma affects bones and soft tissues. Sarcomas are a type of tumor tissue developed from soft tissues like blood vessels tissues, nerve tissues, fat tissues, muscle tissues, fibrous tissues and deep skin tissues. Common symptom of skin cancer is a sore that will not heal, that of a lungs cancer may be chest pain, coughing up blood and shortness of breath. The signs of pancreatic carcinoma are dark urine, clay colored stool, fatigue and weakness. Soft tissue sarcomas, in the early stage, do not cause any symptom..
Treatment of any cancer depends on the stage and affected organs. Cancer detected in early stage is likely to be cured while cancer in mature stage leaves minimal chance of survival. Common treatment of cancer is surgery. The cancer tissues and some amount of adjacent healthy tissue are removed by the surgery. If the cancer is diagnosed as critical, it may cause removal of all or part of an organ from the body. Radiation therapy and chemotherapy are also used to fight cancer.
