Engineering college rankings
The four-year course of B.Tech in Computer Science is specifically designed in such a manner that provide students a thorough idea of computing, an overview of the concepts, principles and skills along with their application and extension, and practical exposure to applied computing. In this course, Special care is taken to convey principles underlying computing to develop an understanding of the engineering considerations involved in the design, implementation, and usage of computing system. That’s not all! This course also provides an understanding of the basic mathematics of computing, that includes logic, sets, relations and grammars.
A successful stint as a B.Tech student studying Computer Science prepares the students for a bright career in software engineering and also for pursuing a higher degree. After successfully completing the four year program a variety of focus areas open up for the students that allow them to customize their learning and target a numerous career options such as Research in computer science, Applying computational techniques to solving problems in other basic and applied science (physics, chemistry, biosciences, electrical engineering, etc.), Developing scientific and mathematical software, System software development such as device drivers and operating system, Commercial software development, Embedded systems, Mobile application development, Industrial process control, Bioinformatics, IT and mathematics applications in finance, IT-assisted education, and much more.
The program has been designed in such a manner that it allows the students to specialize in one of the disciplines that emerge from this mother discipline – Computer Science based upon their aptitude and inclination. These disciplines include Computer Science, IT, ICT and Computer Engineering. The students are also exposed to a 6-month live Industry Practice that ensures real-life field experience.
To get into a reputed Engineering institute, the students have to appear in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) that is organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India. Introduced in the year 2002, various undergraduate engineering and architecture colleges participate in this national level competitive test. These participating institutes accept the AIEEE score that include the 5 Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs) and 30 National Institutes of Technology (NITs). Generally held on the last Sunday of April, the results of this examination are announced in the last week of May or the first week of June. Candidates are assigned ranks on an all-India basis and state basis.
The examination consists of two papers: Paper 1 that is meant for B.E./B.Tech courses and Paper 2 that is intended for B.Arch courses. Paper 1 has three sections, namely Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with each subject carrying weight. Paper 2 has three sections, namely Mathematics, Drawing, and Aptitude.
The AIEEE examination results play an important role in deciding which institute a candidate will eventually do a B.Tech Course from. Here Engineering College Rankings play a vital role. Every candidate wishes to get into the best engineering institute for which they scan the rankings, facilities, infrastructure, placements, and teaching methodology among many other things.
All the aforementioned factors are thoroughly scanned and finally candidates zero in on the institute of their choice.
