Worrying about your technical expertise is useless as any good blogging platform will take this worry off of you and will guide you through this process. So to create a blog what is it that you should look for in a blogging website other than the content niche which you already have chosen for yourself.

Here are a few things that you might be skipping while signing up for a blogging website. These features are easy to handle and can help you spread your blog faster and can help you establish yourself as well:

• The blogging website you chose must have an RSS subscription option. This will enable you to syndicate your content and make it easier for you and the readers. If you have an RSS option, you can send a summarized text to your readers in the form of an RSS feed. This means that weather your readers use a news reader on their system or mobile phones, whenever you update your content, the RSS feed will update the readers and notify them about the new content and they will get it and will visit your free blog to read the whole content.

• Having RSS for news readers is a good option but if the blog is giving you RSS subscription via emails, it will be even better as the readers will get the updates straight into their email inbox which means that the content will reach your subscribers as it is updated and with growing email technology and mobile phones like Blackberry and the iPhone, the readers can actually get the content delivered to their handsets in real time.

• A navigation bar on your blog will enable your audience and visitors to visit the important pages easily. This will give the visitors easy directions and will simplify your blog for the first time visitors and they will easily find what they are looking for. A navigation bar will be the handle they can use to roam around on your blog.

• Your blogging website should give you the options of Featured Post, Recent Post, Top Commenter’s, Ad Space (which will help you to generate some income) and finally an option to add favorite related blogs. This will add to your social circle and other bloggers will link their blog with yours and you will get more readers.
