How You Should Start Earning As an Affiliate?

Being an affiliate is much easier than being a traditional marketer or sales executive. Firstly, all you need is PC and internet connection. Secondly, you do not need to go out and meet people or deal with customer enquiries on phone. Thirdly, you can work wherever and whenever you want without worrying about bills, pay deduction and retrenchment. However, the main question among most people is how should I start earning as an affiliate?

The first thing you should start off is a niche you should have a passion for and know is selling well. A niche is product with market demand. Other than affiliate marketing, it can be arts and entertainment, betting, computers and accessories, DVDs on movies and music, electronics, Forex etc.

Most people spend far too much time on this and still unable to make their mind. Just go to online marketplaces like Amazon and Clickbank and choose what you like and has a huge demand.

Once you selected your niche, go to Google and type in Google keyword tool which is a free web-based tool to do your keyword research. Then type in the keywords related to your niche. Like for instance if I choose a manga niche, I will type how to draw manga for beginners and what happens is that Google will come up with a set of keywords related to how to draw manga for beginners. Then I consolidated a list of about 20-40 keywords with at least 1000 searches, low competition and at least 2-3 PPC ads. Some product owners are kind enough to give you a list of keywords related to their affiliate program which will save you a lot of time and effort.

Once you got those keywords, the next thing is to look through them. Select the best keyword with most searches, lowest competition and 2-3 ads as your domain name which you can sign up at either Namecheap or GoDaddy. Then I grab a web hosting at Hostgator. As for the rest of the keywords, I created content in the form of articles with those keywords as titles.

Then I built my site using either Wordpress or XSite Pro based on 5 to 10 of the 20 to 30 articles. The main keyword will be my domain name while the rest will be page titles of other pages. At the same time, I signed up for Aweber autoresponder which enabled me to build my email list of subscribers from the people who visited my site so that I can not only market my current affiliate offer but future affiliate offers as well so long as they remained on my list.

Once my site is completed, I created additional content in the form of blog content, bookmarks, classified ads, PDFs, press releases and videos before posting to submission network of article, blog 2.0, bookmarking, classified ads, PDF, press release and video sharing directories like Ezine Articles, Div Share and Youtube.

I also do a Google search for forums and Facebook search for related groups to my niche. Then I joined, introduced myself and got to know other like-minded members while giving advice and being open to theirs at the same time. Once I gained their friendship and trust, I created my own group and invited them to join in return.

This encompasses my entire affiliate marketing process into getting targeted traffic to my sites and building an email list at the same time. This method will not get you rich quick but will make you consistent income once you understood and started implementing what I do consistently.
