A Note on Electric Pool Heaters
The electric pool heaters are considered to be a cheaper alternative to the traditional propane gas powered models. In case of the newer electrical models, the energy consumption is significantly lower and as no fuel needs to be burnt, it effectively helps in significant reduction of carbon footprint. At the same time the expenses are on the lower side as well.
The electric pool heaters functions by sucking heat from the air and transmitting the trapped heat to the water. Air is sucked followed by compression inside a chamber leading to a steady rise in temperature. Water is run through a heat exchanger to be able to absorb the heat. Particularly in the summers, there is a lot more thermal energy to be absorbed whereas in the winters, the thermal content in air is much lower which leads to lesser generation of heat at a time when it is required the most. This in fact stands to be one of their major drawbacks.
On the contrary, the heat pumps are of much greater capacity but a very few people find them able to manage and install one of such models at the end. The key reason for which despite being very high in popularity, these find limited applications can be accounted to their cost rates and installation mechanism.
First of all, these models are highly expensive, and thus it becomes difficult for many to afford such a big amount. Along with this, the installation process is also quite complex and demands to be technologically upgraded to be able to operate them successfully. However, they have a good durability and can last for over five years with a paltry running cost. Therefore, it is certainly going to be a smart choice for any long term investment, and swimming pools are undoubtedly one that falls in this category.
