How the Laser Engraving Equipment works
Author: reikopena | Posted: 21.08.2012The laser engraving equipment works by using the lasers to mark or etch any image on a surface. Though, a very technically complicated procedure, the technique helps in achieving precise and clear engravings. The engraving machine has four basic components, which include intensity, direction, speed and also spread of the laser beam that is used by the controller to trace any type of image on the substratre. Take a look at the following and you will have an elaborate idea on how the machine works.
How it works?
First a predesigned image is precisely uploaded on the computer and then it is eventually transmitted to the laser engraving machine. Now the surface on which the laser beams will be etched is run through the laser engraving equipment. For intance, the promotional pens used for engraving company name and details are first loaded into the conveyor belt either manually or robotically. The operator of the machine needs to make sure that the engraving surface is faced upwards so that the impression can be obtained on it.
The two basic modes used in the process of laser printing includes rastar and vector. The process of Vector engraving follows the curvatures and lines of the images that are engraved. This is similar to following pencil tracing that outlines the images. Whereas, the rastar based laser moves through in a slow manner, back and forth similar to the computer bitmaps.
Laser technology also follows the laser cutting method that ensures cutting through different materials, such as aluminum, carbon steel, copper alloys and much more. It is also referred to as a high-defined technology that is used in various industrial sectors for many purposes. Though cutting and engraving are completely two different process but they both have the same goal of creating stylish impression.
Knowing the functions of laser equipment helps in bringing many utilities within the industry.
